Honors Students Win Prestigious Scholarships
“Six Western Kentucky University students have been recognized in national federal scholarshipcommemorative scholarship competitions with one receiving a Goldwater Scholarship and two winning Udall Scholarships.
In addition, two students received honorable mentions in the Goldwater Scholarship competition and another student has been selected as a Truman Scholarship finalist. WKU had more students recognized for the federal commemorative scholarships than any other school, public or private in Kentucky, according to Amy Eckhardt, director of the Office of Scholar Development at WKU.”

2 students also received prestigious scholarships with the help of Maggie Luo. Lesley Greenwell & Christy Beyke received a 2009 Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad scholarship.
Additionally, Maggie Roe, Senior Exercise Science major from East Bernstadt, KY, won a $6,000 scholarship from the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
